I. NATURE OF THE
PROBLEM - REQUIREMENTS
Plaster falling off concrete elements or masonry is generally due to its poor adhesion to the substrate.
II.
SOLUTION
A first coat of UNICRET reinforced with ADIPLAST polymer latex, will ensure bonding of the plaster to the substrate.
It is recommended that UNICRET, which can be reinforced with ADIPLAST polymer latex, is used as the final coat.
III.
APPLICATION
The complete repairing procedure is the following:
The surface must be cleaned thoroughly from all loose particles, dust etc. and thoroughly dampened with water.
The first coat of plaster is applied, using UNICRET, reinforced with ADIPLAST. ADIPLAST is added to the mixing water in the ratio: ADIPLAST : water = 1 : 3.
The final coat of UNICRET is applied once the first coat has set. UNICRET is now only mixed with water. In case that a coat of plaster with higher strengh is required, ADIPLAST is added to the mixing water in the ratio: ADIPLAST : water = 1 : 5.
IV. REMARKS
If fast work is necessary and the damaged area is small then UNICRET-FAST, fast-setting white cement-lime mortar for quick plaster repairs can be used instead.
The temperature during application must be between +5oC and +35oC.
Material that haw started to set must not be resoftened again with water.
During summer, it is recommended that the plaster is dampened after being applied, to avoid dehydration due to high temperatures.
Consult the directions for safe use and precautions written on the packaging.
